This is probably my favourite Lego set out there. It was designed by Angus MacLane who worked on the original Wall E film at Pixar and it captures the character’s form and personality perfectly. The attention to detail and the inventive use of lego is inspiring and it now sits on display on my shelves as a showpiece of great design. The set has a lot of adjustable features to create a wide variety of poses though it is quite a fragile set and probably more suited to display than giving to the kids to play with.
The set is now discontinued but you can pick it up on ebay easily enough. The first release had some problems with the neck support so try and get the later release which rectified this issue.
Lego did an interview with Angus about the set which is well worth watching. It took him 10 years of tinkering to perfect! Its interesting to hear that lego modelling was used as a design tool for the original design of Wall E and other robots for the actual movie.
